The Story Behind the Story: Author Interview Series

featuring Khanyisa Mnyaka:

Is it considered work if you are having so much fun?
Tune in to my conversation with Khanyisa Mnaka, author of Traveling While Black & Lesbian. Guess what the book is about?
Learn how she navigated

  • self- publishing,
  • impostor syndrome
  • the emotional maze of writing a memoir.

I host a podcast mainly because I always have so much fun connecting with interesting women… & after a good conversation I always think, “dang, I wish I could invite the world to have coffee with me & hear the great things we all discuss…” This recent episode is no different.

Join me & Khanyisa Mnyaka for a passionate noBS discussion of life, writing & publishing (& so much more).

Khanyisa is a South African-born author, traveler, and life coach. She has been traveling for the past ten years and with over twenty countries traveled, Khanyisa shares her journey with us in her memoir; Traveling While Black And Lesbian.

She began her traveling journey as an ESL teacher in South Korea and has since lived in Costa Rica where she did her MA at the United Nations-mandated University For Peace, she’s owned a party boat and eco-resort in The Phillies and came full circle as an ESL teacher in Thailand where she taught at a Buddhist university.

Khanyisa is passionate about exploring different cultures and learning from different philosophies. She now lives in Seattle, WA, and is a virtual life coach.
