Janice Marquardt

Like many supply chain professionals, Janice Marquardt never planned to be in procurement. She was an engineer, and that second major in communication studies was there just for balance. When she needed a graceful way out of a political career situation, she found herself in a role as an Engineering Buyer and also found her calling. From there, Janice became a commodity manager and then moved to a senior buyer role at a large utility company. Over nine years, she moved into Procurement Manager, Director of Global Procurement, and then Vice President of Supply Chain roles, including building teams and processes using her engineering problem-solving skills. She lives on a farm west of Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband, two children, one great Pyrenees dog, three cats, two dozen Belted Galloway “Oreo” cows, and about 40 chickens.
