Jeddie Kawahatsu is a fourth generation Japanese American raised in San Francisco, California. She currently lives in Honolulu, Hawaii and by day, spends her time reading kitchen memoirs, hula dancing, drinking green smoothies, and working at a local non-profit. By night, she is working on a poetry collection about love and identity and a novel inspired by Japanese folklore and her grandmother’s experience in WWII internment camps. She is most inspired when traveling and her favorite cities (so far) are Rome and Amritsar. She hopes someday, she can travel full time and work remotely, making new friends everyday, learning about other cultures, and writing in cafes and apartments across the globe, sharing her stories with communities everywhere.
